Caught in the headlights is about a boy called peter and his two mates hans and john. The live on a farm near a small town called talem bend. Lots of bad things happen such as a Hay shed gets burnt down on Hans's place and also there next door neighbours had some sheep shot. The go to a small school and have issues with a boy called josh hannan and his mates. Josh is a drug dealer and always is looking for fights. Until one day when josh lost in a fight to Hans. Josh said he would get revenge and so he did he planted Hans and Johns locker with marijuana. The teachers found it and had the two boys expelled. Lots of other interesting stuff hapens as you read on but i will let you find that out.
The book would appeal to people who live on a farm and have to deal with these issues. Also it's a kind of mystery and crim book. It is rated at older year levels maybe yr 10 and above because it has a fair bit of illegal acts and murders in it.
What makes the book so good is the happy ending and that i like stories about mystery and farms and adventures. I think the book will sell because the book tells the life of childeren on a farm who have to deal with crime and Josh Hannan. Also i think people who like to read about children having fun and solving mysteries.
